The National Testing Agency (NTA) is set to commence the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main Session 2 from tomorrow, April 2, 2025. This is a crucial time for students across India aiming for admissions into prestigious engineering and architecture programs. Paper 1 (BE/BTech) exams will be held on April 2, 3, 4, 7, and 8, while Paper 2 (BArch/BPlan) is scheduled for April 9.
Important Reporting Time and Identity Verification
Candidates should report to the exam centre at least two hours before the scheduled exam time. This precaution helps avoid any last-minute rush due to traffic or transportation delays, ensuring you don’t miss crucial instructions. Remember, the JEE Main admit card is your key to entry. You must present the same photo ID as uploaded during the application process, matching the details on your admit card. Strict adherence to the dress code and the instructions printed on your admit card is mandatory.
Exam Hall Guidelines and Conduct
Each candidate will be assigned a specific seat with a roll number. Changing seats is strictly prohibited and can lead to disqualification. Before starting, verify that the question paper displayed on your computer screen corresponds to your chosen subject. Any discrepancies should be immediately reported to the invigilator.

To avoid any hassles, ensure you carry the following documents:
- A printed copy of your JEE Main admit card along with the self-declaration (undertaking) downloaded from the NTA website (printed on A4-size paper).

- A valid, original, and non-expired photo ID. Acceptable IDs include:

Additional Guidelines and Prohibited Items
For Paper 2 candidates with a drawing section, bring your own geometry box set, pencils, erasers, and color pencils or crayons. Note that watercolors are not allowed. Diabetic students may carry essential eatables like sugar tablets and fruits, along with a transparent water bottle. However, packed food items like chocolates or sandwiches are prohibited.
Remember to deposit your JEE Main admit card in the designated drop box while leaving the exam hall. Failure to do so may result in your answers not being evaluated.
Dress Code and Prohibited Items
To ensure a smooth process, avoid wearing metallic accessories such as rings, bracelets, and earrings. Opt for simple and comfortable clothing and avoid footwear with thick soles. Scarves are also not permitted.
Items strictly prohibited inside the exam hall include:
